Friday Favorites

Happy Friday! I hope you are all recovering from the holidays. It can be so difficult to get back into the rhythm of things after all of the holiday fun. It's been awhile since I've posted a Friday Favorites and I'm so excited to be sharing a few non design related things as well. These are things that I have really been loving and I think you would too. Here we go!

1. Oil Diffuser

I got this oil diffuser for my birthday and it is amazing. I've been interested in essential oils and now I have a way to use them! I got an On Guard oil with the diffuser and used it around Christmas when I wasn't feeling well and I really think it helped me! And it smells great. I like diffusing different scents when I'm at my computer working, I'm loving lemon at the moment. The diffuser gives off a nice scent that isn't overpowering. If you don't have one already I would definitely recommend investing in one. It is amazing.

2. My Webster's Pages Planner

This was another birthday present from my sister. I love that there are so many different sections in it. There is a place for your weekly menu and shopping list, a to-do list, a month at a glance as well as a week, pages for notes and a place to write an overview of your week. It's the perfect thing to keep me organized. The pages and dividers are so cute too. Some of the pages have quotes on them, while some have different patterns and designs. If you are in need of a new planner I recommend checking out Webster's Pages

3. Metal Baskets

I've mentioned these before and I still love them. Not only are these baskets functional but they look great too! I have one under our coffee table to hold magazines and I have a wood and metal one in our kitchen with cookbooks in it. There are so many different ways to use them around the house.

It's hard to choose just a few things to share so keep an eye out for the next Friday Favorites where I'll share a few more!

Thanks for reading!

Friday Favorites

Happy Friday! I can't believe it's December already! Where did November go? I'm not complaining though, this is my favorite time of year. It gets cold outside and cozy inside with hot chocolate and Christmas movies. What's not to love?

It's time for another Friday Favorites and I'm excited to share you with some of my favorite things. Enjoy!

1. I am loving buffalo check. I think I am drawn to it because it's so Christmassy. It's rustic but simple, it's perfect for this time of year. I have it on a pillow and I also have it on the rim of a wooden "Merry Christmas" sign. I love adding touches of this pattern around the house.

2. I got The Magnolia Story for my birthday the other day. I haven't started it yet but I know I am going to love it! I read the back and the inside sleeve and I can't wait to dive into it. Chip and Joanna Gaines are such great role models. They are all about family and the small things in life and I love that. I can't wait to read about there journey and how they got to where they are today.

3. Lastly, I feel the need to talk about Rae Dunn. I know I have mentioned this in past Favorites, but I think it deserves another discussion. I have become obsessed. I'm not ashamed to say I am a Rae Dunn hoarder! There are so many cute things out there, more than just mugs! I love the creamer I found at Home Goods and my "yummy" dish I found at TJMaxx. Of course I can't forget about the mugs! I love all the Christmas mugs and they are perfect to display on a hot chocolate bar. Hunting them down is half the fun. They can be hard to find so when you do find something you buy it! It's fun collecting them and switching them out for each season. I love that they are so simple and timeless. They will never go out of style.

I hope you enjoyed reading about some of my favorite things. I would love to hear some of the things you are loving lately or if you too are a Rae Dunn addict :) Leave me a comment below :)

Friday Favorites

Happy Friday! I hope you had a great week! I can't believe it's almost the end of November; I feel like fall is flying by. Thanksgiving is next week and then we will have Christmas! I'm so excited! But first, let's talk about some Friday favorites!

I have home renovations on the brain so that's what inspired this week's Friday Favorites. Also, my photos are all from Magnolia Market.

I want to start off with something that everyone is loving right now. Shiplap! I am obsessed with it and I am trying to find places to incorporate it in our home.

I love this bathroom from Fixer Upper. The shiplap adds some texture to the walls and is complimented nicely by the dark blue paint color. Having shiplap as an accent is a great way to add character without having shiplap everywhere, although that doesn't sound too bad :)

My next favorite is concrete countertops. There is something so unique about them. Concrete is a great alternative to traditional stone counters and can be relatively inexpensive if you do it yourself.

I love the combination of concrete counters with white cabinets and subway tile. Although concrete counters are somewhat of a trend right now, there is something classic about them. There are different options for colors as well. I personally love a light to medium grey.

My final favorite is something inspired by our bathroom redo. I love vessel sinks. I am seriously considering one for our upstairs full bath. I love the way they look and they add character and design to the bathroom.

I love the look of these vessel sinks on an old dresser turned bathroom vanity. This bathroom looks so classic and beautiful. The faucets put the design over the top. They are perfect. I love the shape and color of these sinks too. I don't like the clear glass vessel sinks as much, I prefer the white ones. The white ties in nicely with a farmhouse feel.

I love thinking about home renovations and redesigning spaces in our home, so this was an easy post for me to write. I hope this gave you some inspiration of your own.

Don't forget about the sale going on right now on storyboards. I would love to help you redesign your own space!

Friday Favorites

Happy Friday! I hope everyone has had a great week! I'm excited to share my Friday Favorites with you all! Let's jump right in!

I am loving wooden signs right now. I love the signs with the wooden frames especially. There are so many out there that have really cute sayings or quotes, I have picked out multiples that I want.

This is a sign I got from Route 31 designs. It's hanging in our bedroom and I love it! This song was played at our wedding so it has a special meaning to us. I love the black with white writing and the wood frame. The colors make it pop and stand out.

This is another sign that I love! It's from Etsy, BunkhouseandBroadway. I love this saying and the design of it is perfect with the two fonts. It's simple but will add a lot to a space. I'm looking for a sign to put above our couch and this is one I have my eye on.

I'm in the process of wanting to redo our living room. I don't mean completely redo it but change up some of the decor. With the change will come a new rug. Therefore, rugs are next on my favorites list.

I love the way a rug can completely change the look of a room. It can go from light and airy to bright and colorful. I've picked a few of my favorites.

The middle one is the one I'm looking at for our living room. I love blues and greys, obviously, but I also like black and white and strong lines. The third rug has a tribal print vibe to it, which is popular right now. All three of these rugs would look great and I would love to style each one of them!

These are a few things I have been loving lately! I hope you enjoyed and maybe even found some inspiration for your own home!

Don't forget to check out my e-design page for a list of all my storyboard services! Now is a great time to start thinking about Christmas decorations. I know it's only October, but Christmas will be here before we know it! I can't wait!

Friday Favorites

It's Friday so I thought I'd try something new, Friday favorites! My goal is to post every Friday and talk about some of my favorite things lately.

My first favorite is something I've been wanting for awhile and we finally have a spot for it. A blanket ladder! I love the way these look and they're practical too. Not only can they be used to hang blankets but they can also be used to hold magazines by draping them over the rungs like a blanket. We don't have a fireplace so we can't hang our stockings on the mantle come Christmas time, so I thought it would look great hanging stocking on the ladder too.

I love this one from Joanna Gains' blog. I love the color of the wood and it's the perfect height.

Another favorite of mine lately is anything by Rae Dunn. I think I'm late to the party but I am obsessed. The designs are so clean and simple. Plus, there are so many items you can keep collecting them all! These are just three I found at magenta-inc.com. You can also find them at Homegoods, T.J. Maxx, and Marshalls.

I have also been loving candles lately. There is something really cozy about burning a candle when it's cooler outside and there are so many fun fall scents out right now. I love Bath and Body Works candles because their scents are always really good. I also love handmade candles from Etsy or ones that you would find at farmers markets. Right now I'm enjoying Pumpkin scented candles, but I am excited for Christmas ones! I know, it's way too early but I love Christmas! Until then I will continue to burn cozy fall scents and love it.

I could go on and on with things I love with fall here, but for now I will leave you with these three things.
